Sandhofen, right in the north, is Mannheim's northernmost district and retains its independent, almost rural character. Here long-established residential quarters and industrial sites meet extensive nature reserves along the Rhine. The mix of working-class tradition, village character and a setting close to nature makes Sandhofen a district with a very distinct character away from the bustle.
