The Kunsthalle Mannheim is one of Germany's significant art museums and was founded in 1907. With the new building opened in 2018, whose geometric façade encloses a light-flooded atrium, the institution gained a widely admired new architecture. The collection comprises works of modern and contemporary art, from Édouard Manet through German Impressionism to Max Beckmann. Changing exhibitions are devoted to international contemporary art.
