Christ Church

The Protestant Christ Church in Mannheim's Oststadt was built in the early 20th century in the Art Nouveau style and, with its mighty dome, is a striking eye-catcher of the quarter. The stately building belongs to the founding-era ensemble around Werderplatz. Inside, the wide domed space impresses, and the church is known for its large organ and rich concert life. As the spiritual and cultural centre of the Oststadt, it draws visitors to services and music events. Christ Church shapes the cityscape east of the city centre.
