Mannheim's telecommunications tower, at around 217 meters, is the tallest structure in the city and a striking part of the skyline. It rises at the edge of Luisenpark and is visible from large parts of the region. The slender concrete tower serves telecommunications and, together with the nearby Neckar landscape, shapes the cityscape in the east of Mannheim. As a landmark and photo motif, it is one of the symbols of the modern city. The tower is especially impressive in interplay with the green parkland at its feet.
