Market Square
The Market Square in square G1 has been the central marketplace of Mannheim's city centre for centuries. At its heart stands the Baroque market fountain, an artfully designed landmark of the square. On several days of the week the weekly market takes place here, with regional produce, flowers and specialities. Surrounded by historic and modern buildings as well as the Old Town Hall with the Lower Parish Church, the square forms the social heart of the squares. Cafés and shops make it a busy meeting point.
