Paradeplatz
Paradeplatz forms the geometric and social centre of Mannheim's city of squares. At its heart rises the artful Grupello Pyramid, a Baroque fountain monument by the sculptor Gabriel Grupello with allegorical figures. Surrounded by shops, department stores and the Planken shopping axis, the square is a lively meeting point in the middle of the city centre. From here the symmetrically laid-out squares open up in all directions. Paradeplatz combines historic splendour with the urban bustle of the big city.
