Wine comes before the menu here: Keller's Weinrestaurant in U2 on Herschelplatz pours more than thirty wines by the glass and works with well-known German estates, while the kitchen supplies the matching German cooking. The house has been run by the Keller family since 2004, which shows in the personal service and the advice on what to order by the glass. Its position beside the Herschelbad and the Abendakademie is quieter than that of the venues on the Planken. For visitors it is the obvious address for an evening centred on regional wine - booking is advisable, as the room is small.
