Neckarstadt-West is where you eat Turkish food in Mannheim, and the Baba Grill on Lange Rötterstraße is one of the better-known addresses there. From the rotating spit to yufka and dürüm and plates with salad and sides, the menu covers the full range, with prices staying in snack-bar territory. You can eat in or take away. For visitors the quarter itself is the real reason for the detour: bakeries, greengrocers and grills line the shopping streets, and eating out is noticeably cheaper than in the Squares.
